Category B

Structure Strengthening & Retrofitting

Comprehensive retrofitting solutions — restoring structural integrity and adapting existing RCC structures to meet new functional, loading, and performance requirements.

EXISTING STRUCTURES STRONGER FOR TOMORROW

Steel Plate Strengthening

Steel plate jacketing is a proven retrofitting technique for strengthening reinforced concrete columns and beams, particularly where a structure needs greater load-carrying capacity, improved ductility, or better seismic performance. The method involves encasing the existing member with fabricated steel plates, precisely fitted around the column or beam-column junctions, and secured with mechanical/chemical anchors.

  • Seismic Retrofit

Strengthening columns/beams for improved seismic performance

  • Load-Capacity Upgrades

Added floors, heavier equipment, change of occupancy

  • Beam Soffit Strengthening

Steel plate strengthening along beam soffit

  • Beam-Column Joints

CFRP Composite Strengthening

Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) strengthening is a lightweight, non-intrusive method for restoring and enhancing the load-carrying capacity of columns, beams, and slabs without adding significant dead weight. High-strength carbon fibre sheets or laminates are bonded to the concrete surface using structural epoxy, working compositely with the existing member to boost flexural, shear, and axial strength.

  • Minimal Dead Weight

No significant increase in section size or weight

  • Fast Installation

Minimal disruption to occupancy or operations

  • FVD Dampers

Installation of fluid viscous dampers for seismic retrofitting

  • Corrosion-Resistant

Durable for both indoor and exposed structural elements

RCC Footing Strengthening

Existing column and wall footings can become inadequate over time due to increased structural loads, additional floors, change of building use, design/construction deficiencies, or long-term deterioration from moisture and soil movement. CONCRETE SOLUTIONS has delivered several projects that added floors or underwent a change in use, requiring strengthening of footings.

  • Step 1: Excavation

Exposure of existing footing/pedestal to sound substrate

  • Step 2: Dowelling

Reinforcement dowelling & tie-in for composite action

  • Step 3: Concreting

Formwork, concreting & curing to design specification

  • Load Upgrades

For added floors, change of use, design deficiencies

RCC Jacketing — Columns, Beams & Shear Walls

Columns and beams are the primary gravity load-carrying members of an RCC frame. Increased load demand, fire damage, or deterioration can leave existing members under-capacity. CONCRETE SOLUTIONS has delivered several projects requiring strengthening of columns, beams, and shear walls, including structures that suffered severe fire damage.

  • Flexural & Axial Capacity

Restores/enhances load-carrying capacity of columns and beams

  • Fire Damage Repair

    Strengthening of fire-damaged structural members

  • Shear Wall Strengthening

New shear walls and jacketing for lateral load resistance

  • Seismic Compliance

Lateral load upgrades for code compliance and seismic retrofitting

Corrosion Treatment & Mitigation

Corrosion of reinforcement is the leading cause of RCC deterioration in India's climate — driven by chloride ingress and carbonation. As embedded steel rusts, it expands, cracking and spalling the surrounding concrete and progressively reducing load-carrying capacity. CONCRETE SOLUTIONS undertakes restoration of affected members facing severe deterioration.

  • Step 1: Removal

Spalled & contaminated concrete removed to sound substrate

  • Step 2: De-Rusting

    Anti-corrosive priming of reinforcement

  • Step 3: Reinstatement

    Polymer-modified mortar reinstatement of section

  • Step 4: Protection

    Anti-carbonation coating & corrosion inhibitors
